The fun continues...
Our school family has completed their study of the letters with our final letter experts. :) I cannot express in words how proud I am of all their hard work. A big thank you to all the families who helped their child prepare for their big day. Here are the final sentences to review with your child:
* A frog on a log. (Ff)
* I went on a jeep. (Jj)
* Wheels in the rain. Wheels! (Ww)
* I can jump. (Cc)
* The yellow car went. (Yy)
* See the Xx exiting? (Xx)

Important Upcoming Dates:
October 3rd - Picture Day. Your child's order form and payment must be turned in by 10/3/08 in order to have their photo taken. Smile :)
October 9th - Family Fun Night. Our school will host a Hoe Down on Thursday, October 9th. There will be hay-rides, face painting & fun for the whole family. Please look in your child's homework folder for more information.
October 13th - 17th - Fall Break
October 28th - Parent Conference Day. No p.m. session.
October 30th - Patterson's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip. If you are joining our school family, please make sure that you have your volunteer information on file with the Family Resource Center. The cost of the trip is $10. You can make your checks payable to Jessamine Early Learning Village.
Workstations will begin next week! Make sure to ask your little one about this exciting part of kindergarten. :)

Letter Experts
Wow...your children have been doing an incredible job teaching their classmates their letters! I have been so proud of their hard work! Please review the following sentences with your child:

We Are Reading!
Can you believe that only nine days into kindergarten your child can already read the following words: I, my, & can! Way to go! I would also like your child to practice the following sentences:

* "You will not get my eggs!" yelled Mama Turtle.
These sentences were introduced in conjunction with our letters. We practice pointing to each word as we read! Happy reading! :)

Hooray for our Letter Experts!
* Our school family kicked off our study of letters today with two fantastic Letter Experts! Way to go!!! I will send a letter home indicating what letter your child will be in charge of, so be on the lookout in your child's homework folder! We will be studying the letters Rr, Ee, Ss, Nn & Tt this week. Thank you for practicing letter formation, and sound identification with these letters.
* Homework Packets - Homework was sent home today, and will stay with your child until Friday, August 29th! Thank you for making consistent, nightly practice a part of each and every day!
* Take Home Book - My Dog will need to be cut apart and put in order. Thank you for your help in this! :)
* Words of the Week - We will be focusing on the words my & can! Thank you for working with your child to learn these sight words!
* Homework Packets - Homework was sent home today, and will stay with your child until Friday, August 29th! Thank you for making consistent, nightly practice a part of each and every day!
